A Note from A Child

goodbye kit kat

malcolm and i both had things planned today.  i was to attend a meeting and he was going to finish the network wiring at our new house.  shortly before the meeting ended, i received a call from my neighbor.  i knew something was wrong before i even answered the phone. 'joanie, your cat is dead in the road'  i wish she has been more gentle with me but what difference would it have made?  the cat is still dead. then came other calls.  my husband, my daughter.  i left the meeting early. ***** jasmine was ready to leave for federation.  she was to play a difficult piece this year for the judges and this happened an hour before show time.  no adult was home so she was the one who had to deal with it.  the smaller kids were inside.  our neighbor, came to help but the emotional trauma had already occurred.  i was racing home but i couldn't shelter her from the pain of losing something you love. she wanted to shut...

TINY GIRL, BIG MOMENT

HOW DO OUR LITTLE ONES GROW UP RIGHT UNDER OUR NOSES... Ellie Mae, who will be turning five on the 31st, is small for her age. She still wears a size 3. She has tiny feet, tiny legs and a sweet, tiny voice. To this mother, she is still my baby. Friday night, May 15th, 2009 Jacque's Preschool of Taylorsville , Utah gave the thumbs up for Miss Ellie to enter Kindergarten this coming fall. How can this be? Something must have happened when I wasn't looking. I want to go back.... But we cannot. Our sweet tiny baby will not allow it. She is intelligent, confident, prepared and above all, she wants to let her own little light shine. I must let go of the apron strings. Life moves forward. Here's to your own journey Miss Ellie Mae. I love you with all that I am. Shine brightly. mom

KID SPEAK

Mom and Ellie on the way home from preschool : Ellie: Trevor is going to be in trouble. Mom: Why Ellie? Ellie: I was at my cubbie and he said he wanted to be my boyfriend. Mom: What did you tell him Ellie? Ellie: I said I was too young. But he didn't listen. He said it 2 times!

ENCHANTED, Starring YOU!

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF ANDALASIA .....where Lizzie, Emma and Ellie are the stars! I have been trying to get this post put up since Saturday but my computer was on the fritz again and I was not able to download the pictures...but here are the details. After many months of rehearsals and memorizing lines, the girls finally were able to put on the long awaited show. Emma and Ellie were little birds and part of the dragon Elizabeth was Sally Zombie, 'vermin' and a bride And after being thoroughly entertained, we had ice cream and brownies at the Kendalls . Thanks guys for a great evening and for everyone who came to support the kids.

WHEELER FARM

I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH to get to go on a field trip with Ellie this year to Wheeler Historic Farm. We took a chartered bus, ate lunch in the grass, saw lots of animals, had a hay ride, and just had a ton of fun. I think the pictures say it all.
